Los Angeles Air Conditioning

- How a home AC system works.

Air Conditioner

An air conditioner is most often an electric powered outdoor unit that is part of a split system design for residential air conditioning. An air conditioner compresses refrigerant (R-410A) and sends it to the indoor coil, usually called an evaporator coil or air handler. The chilled refrigerant fills copper piping and indoor air is forced through this copper coil system.

Air conditioning efficiency is measured using a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER).

Get More Comfortable Advice: Be sure to purchase an air conditioner that uses modern R-410A refrigerant as opposed to R-22 as it is being phased out due to environmental concerns.

Additionally, when installing a new air conditioner, have your Los Angeles air conditioning contractor examine your indoor coil to ensure it is mold free and ready for efficient operation. You don't want to pay for a high SEER rating on your AC unit only to have your coil affect cooling efficiency.

"My wife and I had a hybrid system installed for our home since fuel prices are pretty high in our area. The dealer we used didn't install it correctly, and for an entire year we didn't benefit at all from the extra expense we paid for hybrid heating.

I talked to the Get More Comfortable team, and they recommended a new thermostat that would handle my existing system. I ordered it, had it installed, and now for the first time we are truly saving money with our home heating system. I highly recommend them!"
